Caminito and Caminito SL

Typical tourist place in Buenos Aires: Caminito, La Boca. Lately i found a remake of it in SL. Not very detailed but fun to watch anyway. So here u get the real Caminito pics and the SL ones after that :)

If u wanna look for it urself in SL goto Search - Places and type Caminito. It has dance balls (tango obviously and others) and also hotel rooms for uhm, well u know the picture if u play SL :p.

New SL home sorta

Thought about it for a long time and now i got it :) The nice thing of SL is to be able to do the things u could never do in real life. Like buying a castle :))

Here are some screenies. It's 760 prims which is a lot of textures. And it needs a lot of space So before i can put it up i will need land to put it on. Best would be someone who would allow me to it up. Anyway setting the interior up is gonna be a lot of fun!

Some fresh SL air

By lack of real ocean taking the SL one. In a way it works. The last few days have seen tremendous changes. Sometimes one has to say no and not trying to be nice. This was one of those instances. I didn't so ended up in a SL mess. Solution? Fixing it. Giving up some of the past to be able to start new. And then saying no gets harder. Guess i was never good at that.

In practice this meant scrapping groups and friends. Some for awhile and others permanently. Also changed my profile, gave up my house. Alternative was take another avatar but that would mean really starting over again. Naaaahhh.

One i couldn't scrap. She made it to a few posts here :) Some things run deep like the ocean below. And although u can say the situation between us changed the past 2 weeks below the waves it hasn't. At least not for me. The Leo went ashore while the Pisces peeks up his head above the water and wonders if they'll ever swim together again.

SL weird

Yesterday i was taken to a place in SL and was sooo funny hehe. Had to make screenies. LMAO

In a post from yesterday i mentioned role play and SL gf. I forgot to make pics of the training :p But this one is worthwhile at least for me :)

Jade and i don't get much time lately. She running the club, real life things. But today we had a moment :)

Ya'll must think I'm outta my mind but there is a bit more to it than meats the eye :) How that is? Because over time u get to know someone. Through the lines, the messages, the voice in game. We didn't have it easy all the time but I'm learning to listen, be patient ( yes right me hehe) and value her for who she is.

Week 2

Was a busy week at work. Not surprising. Everyone was coming back from leave. Everything to normal i guess.

Outside work not much to tell. At least not in here :) CSI, Criminal Minds etc started airing again in the US resuming this season. So i have something to watch! :))

Did some SL of course. Visited the club a few times. Not that i intended but seemed the best way to see my SL girl and some friends. And went on with role play. Did some sparring with swords of all kinds. I should make some screenies of that for here :) Tonight we have training. Will give it a try then :)

Grumbles

Grrr. Twice maintenance today on SL. Just TP-ed and crashed. And now i can't get back while my friends are still in! Says maintenance again! Not my SL day! Worst thing? Have to miss my girl! Damn!

W000t!

Now that was fun yesterday! We were so busy at the party i didn't have time or think about making screenies. Got enough people in, then a drop and later basically the whole familydropped in including Jac the land owner who is barely in SL at all lately. And then it sucks to be in European time zone i tell ya. Tonight another event at the same time (1 pm SL time, 1 pm PST, 4 pm EST, 10 pm CET, 6 pm Buenos Aires time.

Club status

Well yesterday evening we got the tip jars done. Was a little bit tricky for a bit but we got it working now. Jade got a DJ set yesterday so that is set too. I bet she'll have fun with that on friday hehe. Also the pose balls have been placed back and i got the group logo done. I had to wait since i needed to be added to the group again. I had deleted it by accident. Dumb me :p

What remains is to post an event for tomorrow and get dance poles for the dancers. And there was a third thing. Hmmm what was that?

Tonight wanna make some screenies for here and see if i can post the event here as well with the SLurl again. Can't wait till friday when we open :))

Break in between work

Well as owners of the club we needed a break :) Btw we want to have all set up for a grand opening on Friday.

Gangsters in Little Italy

Yep another SL post :p

With Jade we are reopening an already existing club called Gangsters. Al Capone style of club. Had no idea how much you need to do. Pose balls, tip jars, groups etc. Is fun though. As soon as we are done we wanna do a grand (re)opening. What u can do? Dance, listen to music, hang at the bar, enjoy the dancers. Later on the 1st floor we will make additional things. It was used as casino.

Hope to put some pics here soon. And if at all possible capture a movie to give a good impression of it.

Second Life's hidden world

Yes another SL post :) I spend much time there so not surprising. I know i need to make other kind of posts as well! But this one asks for explanation.

In an earlier post already introduced my best friend Jade. For those who don't know SL: In SL basically you can do everything you want. Have a house, have friends etc. No it's not the real world i know!

However as in RL when you meet persons you sometimes grow closer. Some of you may know that through chat for example. Well, SL has the visual aspect. You can actually do things. Also you can use voice as you would in Skype for example.

Another aspect is that through the avatar you experience real people. Not all the time because everyone can be who he or she is obviously. But often real people with real feelings. And that goes far. real friendships evolve, people meet in real life often, relationships happen and also the part of that. I know even people who took that too far and endd up divorcing in real life because they met someone in the game. So how real do you want it?

Jade from the picture above i met by accident really. It was in a club and as often you just have fun and chat a bit. Although early on something was different. Over time we grew closer. Because she has over 2 years of SL experience and me just a few months she took me and guided me around. Taught me things. Through pictures and voice i got to know her even better. And then you come suddenly at a point you realize that you really are close. And now i hear you thinking :)

Through in game events (i don't wanna get into we were for some time more than friends) i realized that she meant more to me than just an in game girl. Because of the issues in the game a real good friendship developed and to such extend that you keep thinking about her at more than just in game. And that goes both ways. We decided to take it by the day yet the last few weeks have really been special. It makes you wonder.

Not only did she change the way i see the game also she forced me to examine myself. And through that i have learned a lot. Especially the last few weeks. I feel calm and relaxed about her and it all makes me smile. And yes i do wonder about where this is leading. But as said day by day.

SL should never be an escape of reality. Also it cannot give the intensity you have with real time friends. But it has the potential to come to the point that the SL -RL line is breached. And in that sense it hasn't less value than RL friends.

It may sound strange but if i would have to miss her it would leave quite a void. She is simply amazing :)

Well, in Second Life one can get closer to someone than expected hence this picture. Meet Jade. Virtual love? Yes, but let me tell you who haven't played this game. You have no idea how real this game can get.

And trust me, these things do happen. I wouldn't have this blog if it hadn't happened before. You can have the highs and lows in this game just as in RL. Because you deal with real people behind an avatar. Never underestimate that!
