Barrios (neighbourhoods)

A bit about where i live. We have 47 barrios, or neighborhoods, in Buenos Aires. There is a good website about them and you can click on the various barrios to get more information. You find this here.

I live in Area 36 of that map. I wanted Area 51 but that seems not to exist :P This barrio is called Flores. It was basically added to the city in 1888. It used to be made of country houses of rich people. There are still some but you will have to look for it since nowadays it is a completely different story. Main areas of this barrio are the Plaza Flores, and on it is the Basilica de San José de Flores. I don't have my own photo's available of those two places at this time. What i can give you is a typical image of a street in Flores. This is our own street over there called Culpina.

You see everything together. That is in most of the city the case. High rise next to a normal house. A very well maintained house next to one that almost falls apart. If you come more into the richer neighborhoods it is more organized by type.
