Todt: Schumacher could replace me

After his retirement at the end of the 2006 Formula One season Michael Schumacher has visited the Spanish and Monaco Grand Prix as Ferrari's advisor. According to Jean Todt, who might retire at the end of this season, Schumacher would be his perfect successor.

"Yes, we are thinking about various people who could take over the whole responsibility of Gestione Sportiva," Jean Todt told reporters in Monaco. "You must always try to plan for the future. Michael has the skills to do it and for me it would be the best, but he does not want to do it. Michael loves the team and the team loves him.

"He is a very clever guy, he knows that to be the head of Gestione Sportiva is a very demanding job where you need to spend 10 or 12 hours every day in the office and be solving problems. Simply he doesn't want to do that which I can understand."

Schumacher visit to be low-profile

Michael Schumacher's role at the Spanish Grand Prix this weekend will be low-profile.

But the retired champion's media spokeswoman, Sabine Kehm, also insisted that Schumacher will be an active member of the Ferrari team - rather than merely a guest - at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya.

"He will be watching structures in the background and looking at where things can be improved," Kehm is quoted as saying by the Deutsche Presse-Agentur.

Kehm's warning follows earlier reports that said Schumacher would probably not even speak to the media this weekend.

The Spanish Grand Prix is to be the first F1 event attended by Schumacher since his Grand Prix finale in Brazil last October. But it is believed that Ferrari and Schumacher's PR representatives have deliberately not organised any structured events to coincide with his visit, despite the large media interest.

Spyker F1 vs. F16

Michael Schumacher did a similar thing earlier against a Eurofighter Typhoon (see movie below). If it's south of NL then it is Gilze-Rijen, Eindhoven or Volkel AB.

"Spyker F1 driver Christijan Albers will face an extreme challenge later this month GPUpdate.net can exclusively reveal. The Dutchman will race against a F16 of the Dutch Netherlands Air Force. The location is still secret although we can reveal it will be somewhere in the south of The Netherlands.

The Spyker F1 vs. F16 fight will be held behind closed doors as only a few invited Spyker F1 guests will be invited. As sponsor of the Spyker F1 team GPUpdate.net will be present to cover the unique event.

Spyker has a long history in the aviation branch. In 1915 the Dutch car manufacturer build its first airplane. A year after the first World War Spyker decided to stop building airplanes, but the famous propeller remained in the brand's logo.

The event will go under the name 'Full Throttle 07' and will be held on the 20th of April.
