4th of July wishes

Especially today would have been nice to be still in the US. Celebrating!! I celebrated the 4th of July once here on Soesterberg Air Base. That was in 1990. USAFE had still a presence here via the 32nd TFS (they flew F-15s). Not so long after Gulf War I they were redeployed to the US.

But the party was great! I was a guest of an aircraft mechanic who was a friend of mine. Much music with line dancing. Food! And fireworks in the evening. You could even walk under the airplanes themselves. Never been so close to them. Post 911 that would be unthinkable!

But who knows I'll get another chance! But first of course clear the mess with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the I-94W issue. Even if i wanted i couldn't go right now. I'm sure it'll be fixed in a couple of months.
