Raikkonen stays top at Barcelona

Kimi Raikkonen stayed top of the pack on the second day of testing this week at the Circuit de Catalunya near Barcelona. However, persistent rain showers meant that the times were difficult to interpret and many drivers - including Alonso - chose not to go out in the treacherous conditions.

Raikkonen though covered 54 laps - his best in 1m30.280s. Within that he suffered a spin, but did no damage to his car. Mark Webber finished second, 1.5s down after 30 laps. Kovalainen was third in the Renault.

The wet conditions meant that the test session has been extended by one day, and will now end on Thursday evening. Only twelve drivers took to the track today, and covered relatively little mileage, saving their efforts for the remaining two days.
