Ferrari confirms former Red Bull chief

Ferrari today confirmed rumours that suggested Red Bull's recently departed Dany Bahar would join the Maranello based team.

Despite his low-profile, Bahar was arguably the highest ranking Red Bull chiefs when he left in February, often referred to as company tycoon Dietrich Mateschitz's 'right hand man'.

Formerly head of corporate projects at the Austrian energy drinks stable, and listed as 'team owner' of the Red Bull NASCAR team on the American series' website, Bahar is to head up a newly established Global Brand Department at Ferrari, a statement said.

Bahar's business unit will report directly to Jean Todt and ‘manage and develop the Ferrari brand on a worldwide scale.’
