Massa expects late decision on Ferrari's number one

Felipe Massa says Ferrari will be in no rush to select which driver it will back for the 2007 championship as he and Kimi Raikkonen are still so close on points. Ferrari has made much of the fact that its drivers are currently free to fight each other on track - something that wasn't the case during the Schumacher era.

"Every result is very important for me, for Kimi, for the team," Massa said. "I think we will not see any decision until we see that the championship is almost done, so I think the team has to work very very hard like we are doing now with both drivers, trying to put both cars in front of McLaren which is quite difficult, looking at how tight the championship is."

"I think we both need to keep pushing very hard, working inside the team, trying to improve everything that it takes, every day, the car, trying to get better," he added. "For sure, at the end of the championship, it's the best thing for the team if we are fighting between us, with no other people in the middle. I think that's the way we need to work. It will be very tough, for sure they are working as well, very hard, so hopefully we can keep going like that."
